Dr. Mathew Ninan, Founder of the Lung Health Coalition, was recently featured on ABC News alongside other Tampa Bay–area physicians to highlight major advancements in lung cancer detection and treatment. In the segment, Dr. Ninan spoke about the growing need for community-based screening, particularly for non-smokers and underserved populations. He also introduced the Firstlook Lung test—a simple blood test that helps identify patients at high risk of developing lung cancer. His appearance helped elevate public awareness around early detection, screening access, and the lifesaving potential of robotic-assisted procedures across Florida.
“More and more people who have not smoked are now presenting to us with lung cancer, younger patients, women, etc. We really have to push this whole idea of screening in the community,” said Dr. Mathew Ninan
